Kevin Jacob Willson

August 31, 1976 — November 1, 2018

Kevin Jacob Willson, born August 31, 1976 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to his loving parents, Lyle Willson and Nadine Johnson. Kevin left this world peacefully and returned to his Father in Heaven on November 1, 2018 at Davis Hospital in Layton, Utah surrounded by family and friends. Kevin was a very kind and loving man who enjoyed helping others wherever he went. He always had a kind word and shoulder to learn on. Kevin believed serving others in every capacity was the only way to live; even if it meant giving up everything for the needs of others. Kevin graduated high school in Rock Springs, Wyoming in 1995 and proceeded to work various odd jobs before moving to South Dakota in 1998. Kevin attended Pilot Butte Ward and was working on receiving the Melchizedek Priesthood as well as his temple recommend. His hopes were to find another special woman to lovingly care for throughout the rest of his days. Kevin enjoyed machining and woodworking. He spent 20 years as a machinist in a factory in De Smet South Dakota. There with friends and family he lived, finding his wife Patty. Married for fourteen years before they divorced. He loved and devoted his life to her and his step-children, caring for them in every way a good father and husband could. Kevin enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking and all things outdoors. He loved the rain, the snow and the sunshine alike. He always found beauty in nature. Kevin was a very skilled craftsman and entrepreneur, taking old unwanted things and making them new again for others to use. He loved electronics, woodworking and yes Legos; like his two younger brothers. Kevin was devoted to family and God and felt the two were inseparable. Coming to Rock Springs to be closer to his brothers, sisters and parents. Kevin will always be remembered for his rugged good looks, his kind heart and loving smile. Kevin is survived by his mother Nadine and father Lyle of Rock Springs, WY, his brothers: Shawn of Rock Springs, WY, Kelly (Dawn) of Rock Springs, WY, Michael (Melissa) of Clearfield, UT and sisters: Leann of Rock Springs, WY, and Renee (Kevin) of Taylorsville, UT. He has five nephews and ten nieces. Kevin’s funeral will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Pilot Butte Ward at 2055 Edgar St., Rock Springs, WY on Friday November 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held on Thursday November 8, 2018 at church from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and again on Friday, two hours prior to services. Kevin will be interred at the Rock Springs Cemetery at 802 Thompson St. in Rock Springs, Wyoming. In loving memory, you will never be forgotten and always be loved Kevin. We will miss you always.
