Lloyd P. Lofton Green River - Lloyd P. Lofton, 74, of Green River, WY died suddenly June 7, 2016 at his home. He was born January 12, 1942 in Key West, Florida to Martha Moon Jones Lofton Edgren. Lloyd moved from Florida to Kansas by himself at 15, he then graduated from Ford High School in Ford, Kansas in 1961. He met Geri, his wife of 53 years while they both worked at the Wyoming State Hospital. They were married on April 18, 1963 in McKinnon, WY. They were later sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an avid Wyoming Cowboys fan who enjoyed going to football games every fall. He enjoyed playing city league softball for over 20 years in Green River. He volunteered as a Special Olympics coach and accompanied special needs children to several competitions. He and Geri were also foster parents for many children. He helped establish the volunteer ambulance service in Green River and was an EMT serving the Green River community. He was employed by Church & Dwight, Allied Chemical and SF Phosphates retiring in 2004. In his later years he became a regular customer at Buckaroo's and the Hitching Post, having a menu item named after him at the former restaurant. Survivors include his wife Geraldine (Geri) Behunin Lofton; three children Gina Holley, Jay (DaNene) Lofton and Lance (Jennifer (Jay) Meeks) Lofton; five grandchildren Keith (Ashley) Lofton, Cami Holley (Kevin) Northington, Katie Jo Kendrick, Avonlea Lofton and Emory Lofton. 2 great-grandchildren, Lucy and Nora Lofton. He was preceded in death by his mother, and daughters Bethany and Christa Lofton. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the McKinnon Cemetery in McKinnon, Wyoming.
