Shirley Mae Overy of Green River, Wyoming passed away on July 30th, at her home hand in hand with her two daughters, and surrounded by her granddaughters. She faced her health challenges with faith and strength every step of the way. She was born on March 8th, 1934 in Annis Idaho, the daughter of the late Earl and Eva Hall. Shirley graduated from Rigby High School, in 1952 and attended Ricks College. She then served an LDS mission in Hong Kong. Shirley married William C. Overy in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 2nd, 1969. She served several missions with her husband, extracting names for the genealogy library. Mrs. Overy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is where she magnified her callings and made eternal friendships. She loved her family and those who came into her warm home. Shirley was humble in her endless amount of compassion and service. She played a vital role in raising her granddaughters. She took pride in her baking skills, especially her homemade pies. Shirley loved listening to music, candles, roses, and was huge Utah Jazz fan. She enjoyed visiting with others for hours. Shirley was a former member of T.O.P.S and Bunco. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Murphy (David) and Arlene Watterson, both of Green River, Wyoming. Six granddaughters, Jessica Murphy, Kylee Johnson (Tony), Abby and Emily Murphy. Whitney and Hailey Watterson. Six great-grandchildren, two brothers Melvin Hall (Viola) of Idaho Falls, and Ronald Hall (Helen) of Orem, Utah. Two sisters Maurine Radford (late Merle) of Annis, Idaho and RaNae Porter (late Elwood) of Rexburg, Idaho. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other grandchildren from extended family. She left her family and friends knowing they were truly loved. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4th at the Green River LDS Stake Center, 120 Shoshone Ave, Green River, Wyoming. A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 3rd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and from 9:30am to 10:45am on the day of the funeral at the church Interment will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Rock Springs.
