Amy Pearl Piper

Amy Pearl Piper Rock Springs – Amy Pearl Piper, 77, of Rock Springs died Tuesday February 22, 2005 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, Rock Springs after a short illness. Amy was born July 30, 1927 in Cheyenne, Wyoming the daughter of Howard Charles and Freddie Lee Moon. She attended schools in Lander. On September 11, 1944 she married Marcus Piper in Lander, Wyoming. She was a rancher, business owner, a cook and care taker at the Wyoming State Training School. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, VFW, and POE Does Auxillary. Her interest included spending time with her family and friends, winning at card games and bingo, her bible study group, making dolls, reading westerns, and visiting with others at the Rock Springs Young-at Heart senior citizens center. Survivors include four sons, Howard Piper and wife Beverly of Dallas, Texas, Max Piper and wife Rena of Rock Springs, Calvin Piper and wife Pamela of Rock Springs, and Ray Piper and fiancee Lorie Johnson; two brothers, Howard Moon and wife Rita of Loveland, Colorado, and John Moon and wife Emily of Casper, Wyoming; five sisters, Hazel Steffey of Casper, Wyoming, Wanda Divan and husband Kirt of Dubois, Wyoming, Florence Holden and husband Jim of Lander, Wyoming, Dora Watts and husband Jody of Craig, Colorado, and JoAnn Vensor of Denver, Colorado; sixteen grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; and her cat sugar. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Leo Moon, and daughter, Dorothy Fancher. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. An additional service will be held on Saturday evening at the Trinity Assembly of God Church, 400 N. 9th , Lander, Wyoming. In Lieu of flowers send donations to the Lander Elks Lodge, 492 Lincoln, Lander, WY 82520 or the Rock Springs Young-at Heart Senior Citizen Center, 538 Pilot Butte Ave., Rock Springs, WY.
