Clifford Marvin Mercer Rock Springs - Clifford Marvin Mercer, 74, of Rock Springs died Saturday, April 16, 2016 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born June 4, 1941 in Bemidji, Minnesota, the son of John and Agnes Mercer. He graduated from Central Valley High School in Spokane, Washington with the class of 1959. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He married to Peggy Ann Whitley in Kellogg, Idaho on March 31, 1964. They were later divorced. He worked for Pacific Power and Light for 20 years retiring in 2001. His interests were hunting, fishing, gardening, and the outdoors. Survivors include his sons John Mercer of Rock Springs, and Clifford Marvin Mercer Jr. of Stansbury, Utah; his previous wife Peggy Mercer of Stansbury Park; grandsons Christopher Scott Mercer and Gage Patrick Mercer; great-grandchildren Jade Deuel, Hailey and Allie Mercer; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Agnes Mercer, brothers Glen Robert Mercer and infant brother, sisters Phyllis Jean Mercer and Luverne Ann Mercer. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs Private service will be held at a later date.
