Darlene Marie Shepard
Green River - Darlene Marie Shepard, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Sunday March 24, 2019.
She was born May 18, 1926 in Green River to Glen and Mabel Warby. Darlene was the first of five children born to the Warby's.
She attended schools in Green River where she lived most of her life.
She married her sweetheart Cecil Shepard in Burns, Oregon, October 13,
1943. Their marriage was later sealed in The Latter-day Saint Salt Lake Temple in July of 1963. Together they raised 7 children.
She worked in the office for Dell White at Dell's Market in Green River for
many years.
Darlene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions throughout her life.
She loved music and had a wonderful singing voice. She always enjoyed singing with the choir at church. A few of her other interests included traveling,
camping with her family, reading, gardening, walking and spending as
much time as she could with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her four daughters; Sheri Rushing of Herriman, Utah,
Sandy Gilmore (Art) of West Haven, Utah, Susan Castillon (Hector) of
Green River, Laura Owens (Stan) of Green River; two sons, Larry
Shepard (Terri) of Green River, David Shepard (Traci) of Far West,
Utah; one sister-in-law Evelyn Warby of Ogden Utah; 25 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband
Cecil Shepard, son Ronnie Shepard, one granddaughter, one
grandson, two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, and one
great-great grandson, three sisters Karen Lee Warby, Glenda
Borzea (John), Patsy Wood (Jim), two brothers, Jerry Warby (Margaret),
and Keith Warby.
She was a quiet but very kind, patient and loving mother and
grandmother and she will be remembered and missed by all of us.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, April 1, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1000 W 4th North in Green River, WY.
A viewing will be held 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm, Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the church and 9:30 am - 10:30 am Monday prior to the services.
Interment will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River, WY.
