Rock Springs – Eddie Mae Staten, 59, died Tuesday September 21, 2004 at her home in Rock Springs. She was born December 3, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of L.B. and Annie Mae Gibson. Her interest included reading and babysitting her grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Ruthie Mae Staten of Rock Springs, and Beverly Ann Staten of Minnesota; nine brothers, Ray Gibson and wife Tilly of St. Louis, MO, Lonnie Gibson of Colorado, Milford Gibson and wife Mary of St. Louis, MO, Carson Gibson of Rock Springs, Amos Gibson and wife Kim of Rock Springs, Angelo Gibson of Rock Springs, Michael Gibson and wife Shantel of Casper, WY, Maurice Gibson and wife Robin of St. Louis, MO, and Wilbert Gibson of St. Louis, MO; five sisters, Geraldine Gibson of Illinois, Joanne Dorsey and husband Frank of Rock Springs, Rachael Gibson of Casper, WY, Rose Jackson of Casper, WY, and Pearl Vaughn of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Shanieka, Lamar, and Terrence; three great-grandchildren, Tanasha, Tari, and Malachi; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2004 at the New Hope Baptist Church, 513 G Street, Rock Springs with Pastor Bobby Ashley officiating. Inurnment will take place at Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
