Eugene “Gene” Cox
Rock Springs - Eugene “Gene” Cox, 89, of Rock Springs died Monday, March 21, 2016 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born June 1st, 1926 in Gunnison, Colorado, the son of Bayless and Burtha Cox.

He was a member of the LDS church, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the American Legion, and the Masonic Lodge.
He married Mary Ellen Larson on October 8th, 1949. Together they had three sons. Marko “Mark” Eugene Cox, Michael “Mickey” Ben Cox, and Robert “Bob” William Cox.
He was the “World’s Best Dancer”, and I will miss that. After the Navy, he worked as a surveyor, worked on the railroad, and became an electrician with the IBEW #322 Local, and taught welding technology at WWCC for 7 years. He retired in May 1990. He had bought land in the Upper Green River Basin in 1967, where they built their cabin which burned down in 1993. He and his wife traveled to Hawaii, Haiti, Jamaica, Cancun, and the Virgin Islands.
