I saw Gary's obituary in our home town newspaper, and was shocked and sadden to hear of his passing. I went to high school with Gary, he was a sweet and kind person. My condolences to you and your family.

Our hearts are broken... Gary was the son my father never had, together Gary and my father explored the wilderness and found God. Later with their sons and grandsons they learned what life was really about... they knew that the only things you could take with you when you leave this world was what you could pack in your heart.. Gary knew this and left fully packed. He is only going ahead of you (Joyce,Jason) to make sure the road is clear. He will be waiting, with open arms for you and all of the rest of us that miss him so much. You are in our thoughts and prayers always. Much Love, The Raels and The Maines Family.

Gary was a great friend who I worked with in the coal mines in Hanna Wyoming. My brother later worked with him at Solvay. Gary and I had many great times with lots of laughter and I know he will be missed by all. I am very thankful I had the opportunity to know him and visit with him recently in Green River. My thoughts are with you all.

I was on the Solvay Blue Mine Rescue team with Gary for years and those were the best years of my mine rescue experience. Gary took me fishing, to show me what a large trout looked like. Joyce caught a much larger fish than I did. Gary was my friend and I will miss him greatly. The world is a lesser place without him.
