Josephine “JoAnn” Anna Smith
Rock Springs - Josephine “JoAnn” Anna Smith, 74, a lifelong resident of Rock Springs, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Sage View Care Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 9, 1941 in Rock Springs, the daughter of Stanley William Wisniewski and Albina Hafner Wisniewski. She attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1960.
She married Harold Ray Smith in Green River. He preceded her in death February 21, 2005.
She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community.
Her interests were playing pinochle & bingo, singing, animals especially dogs, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son Adrian Scott Warpness of Kemmerer; daughters Albina Rae Mayne and husband John of Lyman, Valerie LeAnn Petrovich and husband Michael of Rock Springs; brothers Stanley Wisniewski Jr. and wife Debbie of Madison, Alabama, Allen Wisniewski and wife Patty and George Michael Wisniewski and wife Donna all of Rock Springs; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; several cousins; numerous nieces and nephews; all her family of special friends and care givers at Sage View Care Center.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband Harold Ray Smith, and daughter-in-law Debbie Warpness.
Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at Fox Funeral Home, 2800 Commercial Way, Rock Springs. A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday December 17, 2015 at the funeral home.
Inurnment will take place in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Rock Springs.
