Marylou Schock Rock Springs - Marylou Schock, 85, of Rock Springs, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Deer Trail Assisted Living Center in Rock Springs. She was born January 30, 1930 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Merle Allen and Lilian Winkler Allen. She attended schools in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School with the class of 1948. She married John Schock January 29, 1948 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death December 11, 1992. She was a founding member of Sweetwater League of Women Voters, founding member of Sweetwater Hospital Volunteer Auxilary, and also long time founding member of Local Color Gallery. Her interests were pottery, cooking, traveling, and collecting antiques. Survivors include son Grant Schock and wife Nora of Hillsboro, Oregon; daughters Susan Murray of Rock Springs, Nancy Sinagoga and husband Larry of Pawnee City, Nebraska, and Kathy Swetich and husband Dan of Custard, South Dakota; grandchildren Kelly Murray, Beka Maynard, Zach Blackwood, Stephanie Brown, Mia Schock, Mae Lim, Alexandra Mathern, Weston Swetich; great-grandchildren JJ and Hayden Maynard, Dan Swetich, Olivia and Vivian Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Lillian Allen, husband Grover John Schock, and sister Jane Simpson. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. The family will be receiving friends after 12:00 pm Saturday November 7, 2015 at 666 Bighorn St., Rock Springs.
